What BS Portal think about Stamford Endowed Schools?
Located 1 hour and 45 minutes drive north from London Heathrow, at the edge of the beautiful Lincolnshire. The Stamford Endowed School is set within the stunning Georgian architecture town of Stamford. This town was complimented as "Britain’s top place to live" in 2013.

Stamford Endowed School was originally founded in 1532 known as the Stamford School. With continuous development over the years, it is currently incorporating 4 independent schools that provide the highest quality education covering from the age of 2 to 18, from Nursery to Sixth Form.

Stamford nursery;
Stamford Junior School, for boys and girls age 2-11;
Stamford High School, for girls age 11- 18;
Stamford School, for boys age 11 – 18.
Students in the Sixth Form are taught in co-educational classes across both the senior school sites.

This “Diamond Model” combination of co-educational and single-sex education at different stages allows teachers to provide teaching more closely to the pupils' needs, interests and learning styles and minimise distractions.

The Stamford Endowed School has 54 buildings within and around the town of Stamford, 60 acres of sports pitches, landscape and garden. The facilities are top of the range with their own sports centre including football pitches, rugby pitches, tennis courts, indoor heated swimming pool, and multiple indoor gyms.

The Stamford Endowed School ensures a first-class academic, social and cultural experience. Teaching pupils fosters a love of learning and skills for life. They promote hard work, enthusiasm, determination and a willingness to throw everything on offer and give the best shot. Pupils will be taught a broad curriculum by inspiring teachers who are experts in their subjects for intellectual growth and development can continue independently outside the classroom. Pupils are able to explore and learn any subjects that they are interested in to gain valuable knowledge or skills.

The Stamford Endowed School is a school where everyone represents the school at something like drama, football, gymnastics, singing, skiing, debating, netball, hockey, engineering events, scuba diving, chef competitions, cross country, mock trials, language competitions, musical productions. A wide range of after school's activities, such as music, drama, CCF and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, and those who board with them will often share joint activities during the weekends.

On top of having a wonderful and innovative learning environment, the Stamford Endowed School has spent the last 5 centuries developing and cultivating a deep and meaningful relationship with the local community.
They are proud to support and promote the local businesses to which the owner has a connection with the school, such as a current or former student, parent or staff.

After visiting the Stamford Endowed School by our founder in November 2021, he fully believed that pupils who could receive their first-class education at any point of the learning journey would benefit themselves to gain the skills and attributes to face the future with confidence.

School Description

The Stamford Endowed Schools incorporates Stamford Nursery School; Stamford Junior School, for boys and girls age 2-11; Stamford High School, for girls age 11- 18; and Stamford School, for boys age 11 – 18. Students in the Sixth Form are taught in co-educational classes across both the senior school sites.

This combination of co-educational and single sex education at different stages of a child’s development is known as a “diamond” model. Between the ages of 11-16, by teaching our students in single-sex environments we can tailor the teaching more closely to the needs, interests and learning styles of each class, and help to minimise distractions. Staff in each school are also expert in the pastoral care required by boys or girls. Students work together during some co-curricular activities, such as music, drama, CCF and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, and those who board with us will often share joint activities during the weekends.

Principal's Message

Each School is led by its own Head and Senior Leadership Team. Mr Matthew O’Reilly is Head of Stamford Junior School; Mrs Vicky Buckman is Head of Stamford High School, and Mr Nick Gallop is Headmaster of Stamford School. Mr Will Phelan is Principal of the Stamford Endowed Schools. Being part of a community of three Schools provides strength to our educational offering. Each School has a Head, who makes sure that a pupil’s life at school is rewarding, successful and enjoyable. The combined experience and expertise of all three Heads, means that we are able to harness an individual’s talent to create a learning environment that suits everyone. Matthew O’Reilly Head of Stamford Nursery School and Stamford Junior School (Girls and Boys 2-11) Vicky Buckman Head of Stamford High School (Girls 11-18) Nick Gallop Head of Stamford School (Boys 11-18) All three of the schools have their own campus and facilities just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Stamford. Although each has its own character and traditions, they share an ethos: to build a team around our students, to light fires in them, and to develop the Stamfordian spirit. Our schools have been part of the town of Stamford for almost five centuries, but our educational philosophy is focused on preparing young people to lead happy, fulfilling lives in the 21st century.
