How the schools respond Queen Elizabeth's death

Her Majesty the Queen Elizebeth II passed away at age 96 peacefully in Balmoral on 8 September 2022 after serving as monarch for 70 years. The Queen was the longest-serving British monarch in history.

The Queen visited many schools in the UK over the years supporting everyone in the education sector. Here is how the schools reacted:


Ardvreck School: The Ardvreck community expresses its sincerest condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We are deeply saddened by the news and our thoughts are with all members of the Royal Family in this time of national mourning.

Westminster School: Westminster School mourns the death of its Visitor, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

North London Collegiate School: We are deeply saddened at the news of the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II. The school shares the profound sorrow of the nation, and we send our condolences to the Royal Family.

King’s College School: As a school community, we are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty the Queen. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family. Over the coming weeks, the King’s community will be commemorating Her Majesty and her outstanding service.

Queen Ethelburga’s College: For now, with respect for the Queen and her lasting contribution, we will be pausing all activity on our social media accounts until further notice.

Brighton College: Exactly 60 years ago, in the tenth year of her reign, Her Majesty visited Brighton College. The young Queen was a guide and inspiration then and remained so, steadfastly, for another six decades, touching the lives of people across the globe. We share the sadness of millions at her passing and wish her children and grandchildren every comfort at this desperately sad time.

Manchester High School for Girls: The MHSG community is deeply saddened by the news of Her Majesty the Queen's passing. The longest-reigning monarch in British history, she was an inspiration, in particular to women and girls. We celebrate the legacy of a woman who embodied service for so many years.

Alleyn’s School: The Alleyn’s community wishes to express its sadness at the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. We acknowledge her lifetime of extraordinary service and deep dedication and the enduring values that governed her life. Rest in peace, Your Majesty.

Oxford International College: ?OIC is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.? She was the longest reigning Monarch, for over 70 years, and will be succeeded by her son, King Charles III. Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with The Royal Family and those mourning in the UK and around the world.

The Perse School: It is with deep sadness that we mourn the death of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Pupils at the Pelican, Prep and Upper will meet together tomorrow to remember her life of service, her steadfast values and extraordinary legacy which are an example to us all. Rest in Peace. ?

Magdalen College School: It is with great sadness that Magdalen College School has learnt of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96. As the longest-reigning British monarch, the Queen has been an enduring presence in the lives of pupils, staff and Old Waynfletes for 70 years. Many of our school community were lucky enough to meet the Queen during her long reign, including Old Waynfletes Professor Sir John Cunningham (OW 1966), former Queen’s physician, and Captain Jonathan Olley (OW 2007), former Queen’s equerry.
